Tuesday Mailbag, 8.13.24

In an effort to show our appreciation for supporting us the last five years, we’ve decided to start The Message Pitch Mailbag to connect with our listeners/readers.

The premise is simple: You ask, we answer. Interested? Shoot us an email at info@themessagepitch.com with the subject line “Mailbag Question.”

Here’s what you wanted to know this week:

EDITOR’S NOTE: Yes, we know we missed last week. Sorry about that.

“Please rank the following based on what you feel would be the most difficult current amateur skill set included.

– hitting an nba 3

– kicking a 50+ yard FG

– hitting a major league home run”

– Chet “Street Funk” Johnson

MATT: From easiest to hardest, my order would be shooting a three, a field goal, and then hitting a home run. Not consistently, but I could do the first two eventually; I am not a home run hitter. I kicked a 50 in high school (without a rush and pads to be fair) during soccer practice.

JORDO: From easiest to hardest: the three, homerun, and 50-yard field goal.

WILL: From easiest to hardest: the three, the field goal, the home run. No question. I could hit 10 nba 3s before hitting one mlb homer

DREW: Knowing my body and my limitations, in terms of easiest to hardest, I’d go three, field goal, home run. If you played basketball at any point and were a shooter, you could get lucky and hit an open three at least once. I kicked (kinda) in high school; I’m not saying I could do it, but of the three it’s second most likely. Hitting an MLB fastball is arguably the hardest thing in sports to do, I think it would take a miracle for me to do that.

“Hey guys, when can we expect an absolute anthem like the Colts guy did? Matt, any chance (no pun intended) we get an eagles theme?”

– Johnny “Bootsraps” McGraw

DREW: Matt was too busy laughing, so I’ll take this one. I’ll go never. Not their style. Besides, can you imagine The Mighty eRock hitting high notes like that? No, no you cannot.
