“Saban can come back, right? Like, we don’t have to do this.”

DREW: I mean, yes, in theory Nick Saban could come out of retirement and become the head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide football program—but why would he want to? He appears to be having the time of his life being best friends with Pat McAfee on Gameday, poking fun at himself in comedic commercials, and spending time around the only thing he loves more than football: his wife. College football is hard. And it should be hard. The fact both Saban and Bear Bryant dominated at it is why they are so revered. That said, nothing lasts forever and it’s why Jordo said those who were fans should enjoy the Saban era while it lasted a few years ago.
I would caution all Alabama fans—particularly the irrational ones—to not compare the Kalen DeBoer era to that of Nick Saban. Different guys, different styles, different moods. DeBoer is not Saban, and never will be. But he is a good coach, and could still surprise. He has an unenviable task of following Nick Saban, and anytime there is a transition of coaches, there will be bumps. Just be patient, DeBoer could impress you before it’s all said and done.
“Texas overrated or UGA that good?”

DREW: Both? Neither? In all seriousness, Texas looked listless and Georgia needed a win, and they gave the Longhorns the ultimate “welcome to the SEC” moment. I don’t know what to make of it, other than ESPN is hoping that Texas doesn’t drop another one and neither does UGA.
“What was that Kirby postgame interview?”

DREW: if you believe Kirby Smart, poor ol’ little ol’ Georgia never had no chance against Texas according to all us experts. Everybody doubting them because they’re just little ol’ Georgia.
Well, that, and they got boatraced by a team that got beat by Vandy. But seriously, I actually rolled my eyes during the whole thing. And why bash ESPN? The only reason UGA has a title is because of the system ESPN pushed for. It was shades of Dabo at his most cringey, but worse. At least Dabo seems to keep his players in line.
