BREAKING: Lasso Not Interested in A&M Job

SATIRICAL COLLEGE STATION — Despite rumors earlier this week to the contrary, The Message Pitch can now confirm Ted Lasso is not interested in the head (American) football coaching position for Texas A&M.

A representative for Lasso spoke with TMP football correspondent Jordo this week, stating that the coach was honored, but ultimately, not interested.

“Coach is flattered and humbled by the suggestion, but he’s still happy doing what he’s doing,” said the source, identified as “Led Tasso.” “It ain’t that it’s a bad job, it’s just not the job for me…him right now.”

This is all coming after a report from Twitter that Lasso was interested in the position.

Lasso came from the college game to the upper echelon of European soccer. A widely-respected motivator and loyal coach, he and his right-hand man Coach Beard are a highly-valued commodity—should they decide to tackle American college football again.

The Aggies are still in search of the next great hire, after firing head coach Jimbo Fisher on Nov. 12.

Sources lead the TMP staff to believe their assessment last year that A&M will pursue famed Texas coaching legend Ed “Straight Arrow” Gennero to guide the program in the difficult time.
